Looks like spring has finally sprung in North America, and it could not come soon enough. I am discovering the art of composting as we begin planning our organic garden again this year.
Our newsletter is about a topic that is not often discussed.
WHEN ALL ELSE FAILS. . TRY THIS … SURRENDER
What does it mean to surrender?
Before I answer that question, let’s start at the beginning.
There are times that we would like things to be different than they are– like the weather, our weight or we’d like someone in our lives to have different habits, a different attitude. The more we continue to focus on wanting to change things that are often not in our control, the more we start creating stress – it typically starts as mental stress, then leads up to emotional stess and can sometimes turn into phyiscal stress (for instance when you interact with somene – who you want to change- its YOUR blood pressure that goes up…not theirs)
At some you realize – this is not working, why I am getting anxious or angry over this? At some point you come to the realization you cannot influence, control or change the situation or person. It’s at this point – when all else has failed… I want you to SURRENDER.
Surrender? Yes SURRENDER.
SURRENDER and release the emotional angst and tension you’ve been holding
SURRENDER the need to have personal power over another
SURRENDER and yield to the attitude that it must be your way
And begin to ALLOW and ACCEPT things as they are
And also begin to ask yourself what I can DO to make things better, healthier and more peaceful in my life.
