lip injector lips

6 mistakes your lip injector makes at your expense!

Injections are on the rise. The American Society for Aesthetic Plastic surgery has seen a 40.6% increase in the number of injectables being administered over the last five years (Romanoff, 2019). With more and more people paying for emphasized features, it’s important to be aware of mistakes that the injector could make.

Holistic Healing News has paired with Bryant Rushing Beauty to bring you 6 mistakes you want to avoid when getting face injections.

1. Joker Mouth

Would you kiss Jack Nicholson? Not to be confused with Duck Mouth, Joker Mouth is because you asked for your lips to lift at the corners and the injector placed filler diagonally from under the cheekbone to the mouth which sometimes creates…

2. Smoker Mouth

When the injector places filler diagonally, from lower inside cheekbone to the upper lip border, this will always show, especially when you are tired. It also can cause the lip line to invert; (a.) causing deep folds in the lip line, and perhaps (b.) giving you new lips wrinkle, and (c.) creating weird furrows from lower cheekbones to lip.

LESSON: DON’T ASSUME THE INJECTOR KNOWS WHAT HE/SHE IS DOING. GET REFERRALS. SEE RESULTS ON OTHERS

3. Duck Lips

These may sometimes be your fault. Let’s face it; we would all like to have Angelina Jolie or Scarlett Johansson’s lips! The mistake is (a.) overfilling the vermillion border, (b.) injecting too much product, and (cc) not considering the symmetry of the entire face.

LESSON: YOU CANNOT PULL OFF TOO FULL LIPS IF YOUR UPPER LIP FROM NOSE TO VERMILLION BORDER IS LONGISH

4. You ain’t nuthin but a hound dog eyes

Now Elvis, I would kiss. But hound dog eyes are when the eyes droop. The injector miscalculated the location of the muscle. He also doesn’t take into consideration (a.) the shape of the eye, and (b.) the amount of space between the upper eyelid and the eyebrow.

LESSON: DON’T GIVE THE INJECTOR CARTE BLANC

5. Maleficent Cheekbones

“Do I look evil?” The injector has (a.) injected too shallow, (b.) doesn’t use enough or the right kind of filler, or (c.) injects someone with thin skin.

LESSON: THE FINE LINE BETWEEN INJECTING FILLERS TOO DEEP OR TOO SHALLOW IS AN ART FORM AND TAKES KNOWLEDGE OF FACIAL ANATOMY

6. Spock Eyebrows

These are when a filler is placed above the eyebrow, creating a ridge. The injector has (a.) not taken into consideration thin skin, (b.) hasn’t explained the caveat of doing it, or (c.) you gave the injector carte blanc.

LESSON: THERE IS SO MUCH TO TAKE INTO ACCOUNT WHEN YOU DO BOTOX OR FILLERS. DON’T BE A BEAUTY VICTIM.

One last tip:

The ideal lower lip should be 1.1 times larger than the top lip. Hopefully with all of these tips, you can better avoid those costly injector mistakes.
