During the holidays, we all tend to get very busy hosting parties, having drinks with family and friends, and stressing out over last minute shopping. With all these activities, it is hard to remember to do one of the most important things: drink water! Staying hydrated will not only give you the energy you need to stand through those long lines at the store, but it will also keep your skin looking radiant through the chilly winter season.

Maintaining healthy habits during the holidays is crucial. You can achieve this by drinking water every day. It is suggested that you drink at least 8 cups of water to keep your body hydrated and healthy. This also depends on your body type and how active you are throughout the day. Drinking water before you eat those scrumptious holiday dishes will make you eat less thus, cutting the number of carbs you intake. Water also helps your digestive system. By drinking water, it allows your body to digest foods easier which will reduce holiday weight gain.

With the weather getting colder and drier, it is vital that you drink your suggested 8 cups a day. This will keep your skin looking healthy and moisturized, which will prevent the harsh, cold air from taking its toll on your skin. Studies have shown that drinking the proper amount of water daily will result in having clearer skin. Water is a natural resource that removes impurities and toxins from our bodies.

During this time of year, taking a sip of that refreshing glass of ice cold water is probably the last thing you want to do. A good way to keep your water intake up is to warm up your drink. Hot water counts as well! Making drinks such as tea, hot cider, or hot cocoa are just a couple of different ways to drink hot water this holiday season.

We have all been to those holiday parties where you drink just a little too much and wake up the next morning with a massive hangover. Then, you lay in bed wondering how you could have prevented this situation. By drinking water that’s how! Water is a natural and organic cure for hangovers. For every alcoholic drink consumed, drink a glass of water afterwards to flush out the toxins. Alcohol causes your body to get dehydrated. That is why when you wake up in the morning after a night of drinking, you instantly are in search of water. So, when you go to your next holiday party, make sure you are drinking enough water to prevent that nasty hangover the next morning.

Staying hydrated during the holidays should not be an afterthought; it should be a priority. Whether it is keeping your energy up while shopping for gifts, or purifying your body of all the toxins to keep your skin clearer and brighter, there are a lot of different health benefits to drinking water. Make sure you are drinking enough water for your body to stay hydrated.
